The level opens up as an Elite, Abu talks about the history of the Covenant, and humanity, and shows flashbacks of Halo 1, 2, and 3. We then see the Shadow of Intent as R'tas and The Arbiter talk about the First Battle of Installation 02, and what they are going to do next as they are fighting a loosing naval space battle. They then come to the conclusion to send in a large strike team including Abu, to destroy a Brute Encampment and get the attention of the air force, basically, they are attempting to bring the fight to the ground, where the Separatist's strongest force is. It then shows 2 Phantoms flying over the seas of Installation 02, towards an island, where the Brute Encampment is. Several AA Wraiths fire at the Phantoms along the shore line and one of them is it, and careens into the island. The Pilot, Zuma, says he needs to land now before he is shot down, and he drops of Abu and his allies. Abu then must find Jod and Salos Phantom before they are captured. Abu and his allies find Jod and Salos' crashsite and they cross a chasm via a log, where they encounter their first Brute Captain commanding several Grunts. They kill the Grunts and follow the Captain into a Jackal Sniper valley, where they kill them and follow and finally kill the Captain. They cross the strait via bridges built by Brutes to a tiny island with Brute Hovels and they fight Brutes, Brute Captains, and must clear a landing zone so that the Phantom can deploy a bomb, and must kill a Brute Chieftain to do so. Abu then activates the bomb and they escape the island via a Phantom just before it blows up. The results work in favor of the Separatists, as they have now gotten the attention of the Loyalist ground forces, but now, they must find the Control Room.
